Plant-based brand Unmeat launches fish-free tuna

GLENDALE, CALIF. โ€” Plant-based protein brand Unmeat, a subsidiary of Century Pacific Food, Inc., Manila, Philippines, has launched its new fish-free tuna.

The tuna alternative is made with non-GMO ingredients, contains zero mercury or trans-fat and will be available in three varieties: Tuna in Sunflower Oil, Tuna in Water and Tuna Hot & Spicy.

โ€œOur companyโ€™s legacy is rooted in providing protein-rich brands of packaged foods over four decades, and weโ€™re excited to offer a fish alternative for those looking to incorporate more plant-based foods into their daily lives,โ€ said Gregory Banzon, chief operating officer of Century Pacific Food.

The fish-free tuna joins burger patties, ground meat, luncheon meat, sausages and nuggets in the companyโ€™s plant-based product line.

Unmeat products are currently available through online retailers GTFO, Itโ€™s Vegan! and Weee! or select stores in the Midwest and East Coast. The company also has plans to expand its national retailer availability this fall.
