MycoTechnology hires chief technology officer

AURORA, COLO. โ€” MycoTechnology, Inc., has chosen Ranjan Patnaik as its new chief technology officer (CTO).

โ€œRanjan has an unparalleled track record of steering businesses from the science and tech stage towards becoming manufacturers and suppliers of scalable, commercialized products,โ€ said Alan Hahn, co-founder and chief executive officer of MycoTechnology. โ€œHis experience and expertise will be invaluable as we execute on our vision to expand our presence globally and establish international partnerships, while continuing to build on our plans in the Middle East.โ€

The CTO is a newly created role, which will strategically align research and development, food science and technical services teams under a single leader, according to the company.

Mr. Patnaik brings over 25 years of experience in fermentation, strain engineering and bioprocess product development to the position.

Before joining MycoTechnology, he was previously CTO for Every, formerly Clara Foods, where he led a team in manufacturing egg proteins using precision fermentation.

โ€œIโ€™m thrilled to be taking up this new role with MycoTechnology at such an important and exciting stage of its journey,โ€ Mr. Patnaik said. โ€œThe potential for mycelial fermentation in food and beverage applications is huge and remains largely untapped. MycoTechnologyโ€™s fermentation platform is based on highly sophisticated science and technology know-how and intellectual property assets, putting the company many steps ahead of others in this space and on a clear path to success.โ€
